Former Steinhoff CFO Ben la Grange has resigned as non-executive director of Steinhoff Africa Retail.

In what is now his third resignation from various positions at Steinhoff, Ben la Grange has stepped down from his role as non-executive director of Steinhoff Africa Retail (STAR), effective 24 January 2018.

Recently, La Grange resigned as CFO of Steinhoff, while in early December 2017, he resigned as CEO of STAR. At the time of his resignation from the CEO role – a role which COO Leon Lourens filled – the STAR board asked him to stay on as non-executive director.

According to a notice issued by the company, Louis Du Preez, a commercial director and member of the management board at Steinhoff, and a lawyer by profession, has since been appointed a non-executive director on the STAR board. Du Preez joined Steinhoff as legal counsel in mid-2017.
