He couldn’t pass up the request to help Frey’s recover after the challenges from the last two years.
Brad Wentzel has announced his intentions to leave Douglasdale Dairy for a new role at Frey’s Food Brands, the second largest pork processor in the country.
The company, which is based in Durban, has experienced some tough times in the last two years, seeing some material impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic, the civil unrest and the KwaZulu-Natal floods. They approached Brad to help shepherd the company into the next phase of its journey as its new group CFO.
“I am really looking forward to bringing my expertise and brand of leadership into the company, where I am hoping to make a long-lasting impact on the employees, communities and the region as a whole,” Brad says.
He adds that his time at Douglasdale has been wonderful, and while he is sad to say goodbye, the opportunity to make a difference at Frey’s is not something he could pass by. “We have achieved some great things at Douglasdale and faced many challenges. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, while investing in the people around me.”
Brad was nominated for the 2022 CFO Awards for his work as the CFO of Douglasdale Dairy.
