British American Tobacco appoints Javed Iqbal as interim CFO

British American Tobacco has appointed Javed Iqbal as interim chief financial officer following the departure of Soraya Benchikh.

British American Tobacco has announced that Javed Iqbal, who is currently the director of digital and information, will take on the role of interim chief financial officer. Javed recently acted as the company's interim finance director from May 2023 until April 2024.

Javed will be replacing Soraya Benchikh who is stepping down from her role as chief financial officer and from the board of directors of the company with effect from 26 August 2025. Soraya will remain available to support the transition until 31 December 2025.

Javed is a qualified chartered accountant and holds an MBA in finance and management information systems and a post graduate diploma in system analysis and design.
