Naspers has announced that it has appointed Calvo Mawela as the new CEO of Multichoice South Africa

Mawela (pictured) moves into the CE role from his post as executive in charge of regulatory affairs and policy for video entertainment. He takes over from Mark Ryner, who has been appointed chief operating officer for Multichoice South Africa. In his role, Mawela will be responsible for Multichoice South Africa’s business, as well as DStv media sales in the country.

The news comes amid other changes to the leadership of the company’s Video Entertainment business, which saw two other key appointments.
