Cape Union Mart Group appoints CFO Landi van Staden as FD

As the company’s FD, Landi looks forward to contributing to Cape Union Mart’s long-term future.

After spending the last three years remodelling the CFO role at Cape Union Mart Group, Landi van Staden has been appointed as the company’s FD.

“When I started working at Cape Union Mart, I didn’t have a grand plan other than hoping to add value to the company, while learning something new and building strong relationships,” Landi said.

She explained that she is both excited and nervous about this next step in her career. “You want to do a good job wherever you are, but I am fortunate to be surrounded by a great team who all want to see each other succeed.”

Landi added that other than the obvious statutory changes, the new role will also bring the added benefit and responsibility of contributing to the long-term future of the business.

“I’ve always strived to engage with the business outside of what’s traditionally the finance spectrum, and in doing this it has remained such an interesting and engaging space to work in.”

For the immediate future, however, Landi still has a year-end audit to get through. “Cape Union Mart also recently launched its loyalty programme, which is hugely exciting. However, being in its infancy stage, it does require my close attention.”

Additionally, she is helping the company weather the current economic headwinds.
