On Monday CFO South Africa's directors Melle Eijckelhoff and Alex van Groningen met with fellow Dutchman Mark Buwalda, Client Partner Sub Saharan Africa at Cognizant, a leading provider of information technology, business consulting, enterprise applications and business process services. Buwalda made a name for himself in South Africa with a 15 year career at Ananzi.co.za, sometimes dubbed the 'South African Google'. Last year he joined Cognizant, A US-headquartered company which has great expansion plans for South Africa and the rest of the African continent. Buwalda is responsible for scouting opportunities. "The organization's strength lies in the banking and financial sector, but other sectors such as data mining and insurance are very prominent too," he says.
