Cheryl-Jane Kujenga takes on dual CFO and interim CEO role at Ascendis Health

CJ takes over from Andrew Marshall following the implementation of a recapitalisation transaction.

Ascendis Health has announced that its current CFO, Cheryl-Jane Kujenga, will assume the joint role of CFO and interim CEO with immediate effect.

Her appointment follows the resignation of acting CEO Andrew Marshall, after helping to implement the group’s recapitalisation transaction.

CJ joined Ascendis in December 2020 following a six-month long sabbatical. She previously worked for Adcorp, where she also served as CFO, and briefly as interim CEO. She was nominated for the 2020 CFO Awards for her role at Adcorp.

CJ has held roles in various companies including being a partner at EY for nine years, where she had a dual role as an assurance partner and the strategic growth markets leader for Africa. She has also served on the Accounting Standards Board, South Africa for six years.
