As the CFO of Decision Inc, Chris’s goal is to continue the growth of the company and culture.
Chris van der Walt was appointed as the new group CFO of Decision Inc in November 2020. An experienced, qualified CA and CFO, Chris has proven insight in implementing systems and processes to drive productivity and profitability. With over 10 years’ commercial experience across a range of different industries, he has gained invaluable skills necessary to foster a thriving company and culture.
“As the CFO at Decision Inc, my role is to ensure that financial stability and integrity are embedded into the company’s ethos,” Chris says. “My experience as a CA and CFO working for leading South African organisations ensures that I bring strategic thinking, intelligent reporting, and astute financial decision making to the Decision Inc stable.”
He says that his goal is to continue the growth of the company and culture, working closely with the global Decision Inc leadership team to take the company into a “dynamic and relevant future”.
Chris explains that the company’s focus is on empowering progress across retail, mining, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive and banking, with solutions that tap into the transformative capabilities of artificial intelligence, automation, safety, planning and management. “I believe that technology and financial acumen are key to helping our customers achieve their goals and transform the way they engage with their business and markets.”
Chris completed his articles at Deloitte and stayed on as an audit manager at the firm until 2010. He then joined Integr8 IT as its group financial manager and became the company’s CFO in 2015. After that, he joined BCX as a senior finance business partner in 2018. Before joining Decision Inc, he served as a commercial executive with BCX.
