Dawid Swart has joined legal tech company Afriwise as CFO, bringing experience from senior finance roles across technology and professional services businesses.
Chartered accountant Dawid Swart has joined legal tech company Afriwise as chief financial officer.
Dawid joins Afriwise after serving as director of Commoditech for almost six years. Prior to this, he was CFO of Primerio for almost a year and CFO of Wetility for nearly three years.
In a LinkedIn post, Dawid said he was excited to join Afriwise and contribute to the company’s growth.
“Afriwise helps companies find the laws and regulations that apply to them across Africa, keep up with the changes, and prove they comply,” he said.
He described the company as “a powerful legal tech platform that solves a complex problem, properly”, adding that it was the kind of business he wanted to be working on.
“I now get to roll up my sleeves, learn (quickly), grow professionally and help build a business on an impressive growth curve. I love it!” he said.
He also thanked Afriwise CEO Steven De Backer and the team for the warm welcome, describing his first few weeks as intense “in the best way possible”.
“I have enjoyed every minute of it. I am grateful for the opportunity and genuinely excited about what is ahead,” he said.
