Deon Viljoen acting CEO of Alexander Forbes

post-title

Deon Viljoen, CFO of Alexander Forbes, has been appointed interim group CEO with immediate effect following the announcement that Edward Kieswetter, current CEO, will be taking an early retirement. (Pictured here are Deon Viljoen and Bongani Nqwababa (Sasol), both of whom have been appointed as CEO from CFO at their respective companies since the 2015 CFO Awards.)

According to a statement from Alexander Forbes, Kieswetter will be retiring at the end of March 2017. Sello Moloko will act as executive chairman until a new CEO has been appointed, and Mark Collier will continue as the board's lead independent director.

Kieswetter agreed to step down as CEO with immediate effect to allow the board to proceed with its succession plan. Kieswetter will, however, still be available to assist with a smooth transition, and serve on projects as required. Alexander Forbes will soon commence the process of recruiting a suitable replacement CEO.
