Dondo Mogajane new Treasury DG

Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo announced during a cabinet meeting late last week that Dondo Mogajane (pictured) has been appointed the new director general of National Treasury. Cabinet has approved the appoinement.

Mogajane was made acting director general following Lungisa Fuzile's resignation in April. Fuzile resigned shortly after Pravin Gordhan and Mcebisi Jonas were removed as minister and deputy minister of finance.

Mogajane joined National Treasury in 1999. He has worked in various areas over the years, including intergovernmental relations, provincial budget analysis and the international economic relations divisions. Between 2007 and 2010, Mogajane represented South Africa at the Executive Board of the World Bank as senior advisor for Africa Group 1 countries.
