Netherlands-based Kingfish Company appoints South African Christo du Plessis as CFO

Christo has been acting as CFO since November 2020 and will replace Itay Young in June this year.

Netherlands-based yellowtail farmer the Kingfish Company has appointed South African Christo du Plessis as its new CFO.

Christo has been with the company since January 2019, when he was appointed head of sales and operations. In December 2019 he was promoted to general manager and he has been acting as CFO since November 2020. He will formally replace former CFO Itay Young in June this year.

Prior to joining the Kingfish Company, Christo served in various roles at the Klein Karoo International group of companies, including as the CFO of Klein Karoo Europe. He has served as the CEO and CFO of Abagold, as well as the CFO of Colors Fruit. He completed his articles with PwC and stayed on as an audit supervisor for two years.

Christo is a qualified CA(SA) with a BCompt honours degree in accounting from the University of South Africa.
