Eskom CFO Calib Cassim secures nomination for the 2026 CFO Awards

Eskom CFO Calib Cassim has been nominated for the 2026 CFO Awards, recognising his exceptional leadership, resilience and more than two decades of service at South Africa's power utility, including his tenure as interim CEO during a pivotal period for Eskom.

Calib Cassim is a finance executive and chartered accountant who has spent more than two decades at Eskom and built his career within the organisation, progressing through a series of senior finance and regulatory positions before being appointed CFO in 2017.

In 2023, he also served as Eskom’s interim CEO, leading the utility during one of the most challenging periods in its history, before returning to the CFO role in 2024.

Dubbed the “Oscars of Finance”, the CFO Awards continues to celebrate leaders who raise the bar for people leadership in South Africa across listed companies, large corporates and government institutions.

The 2026 nominees will be celebrated at a gala event on 26 November, where winners across multiple categories, including the CFO of the Year title, will be announced.
