Eskom looking to appoint a permanent CFO

In addition to soon appointing a permanent CFO, Eskom aims to appoint a CEO by the end of April.

Jabu Mabuza, Eskom’s newly appointed chairman, said at a labour union conference held earlier today, 5 March, that the state-run power utility will appoint a permanent chief executive by the end of April to begin the process of reforming the ailing utility, which he said may include reducing job numbers. Appointing a CFO will be next on the cards, he said.

Mabuza said:

“We will be appointing a new chief executive by the end of April and hopefully weeks thereafter we will appoint a new CFO.”

Calib Cassim is currently the acting CFO of Eskom.
