Former Old Mutual exec standing in as CFO for top UK bank

Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc has appointed Katie Murray as the interim CFO.

Katie Murray, currently the deputy CFO, will be acting as interim CFO of Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc (RBS) with effect from 1 October. She will be taking on the role from Ewen Stevenson, who will become the new finance director of HSBC Holdings Plc

Prior to joining RBS in 2015 as finance director, Katie was the CFO at Old Mutual Emerging Markets. She is one of only a handful of women finance executives in the City of London. 

“The search for a successor for Mr Stevenson is underway, and a further announcement will be made in due course,” a statement from RBS said.
