Judge Raymond Zondo is conducting a judicial inquiry and full investigation into state capture.

Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan, when asked to quantify the cost of state capture to the fiscus, said: “We speculate that R100 billion or more could have been lost to state capture.”

He added that the matter is now in the hands of Judge Raymond Zondo, who is conducting a judicial inquiry and full investigation into state capture. Gordhan said he is optimistic that the inquiry will reveal how the Guptas and their associates were able to orchestrate state capture, as well as precisely how much money the country lost.
