Henriette Hooijer has been appointed CFO designate of DRDGold. She will take over from long-standing CFO and 2024 Finance & ESG Award winner, Riaan Davel.
DRDGold has announced the appointment of Henriette Hooijer as CFO designate and executive director, effective 1 July 2025. She will succeed Riaan Davel, who has served as CFO since January 2015 and will step down from his executive role following the conclusion of the company’s FY2025 financial reporting season.
Riaan will remain with DRDGold as an independent consultant to the CFO’s office until 31 January 2027. His advisory role will focus on providing strategic input and professional support to Henriette and contributing to the execution of DRDGold’s Vision 2028.
Henriette, a chartered accountant, brings nearly a decade of institutional knowledge and leadership experience within DRDGold. She joined the group in May 2016 as group financial SOX and compliance manager, following an 11-year career at KPMG. Her trajectory within the company has been marked by key appointments, including her promotion in July 2018 to financial director of Far West Gold Recoveries.
In March 2024, Henriette was appointed general manager: group finance. In this senior executive role, she became a core member of the team driving the group’s financial strategy and operations, while contributing to the implementation of DRDGold’s long-term Vision 2028.
It is anticipated that Henriette will assume the office of CFO from 1 February 2026.
