Hermanus Smit steps in as Truworths interim CFO

Truworths has appointed Hermanus Smit as its interim CFO following David Pfaff’s resignation.

Truworths has announced the appointment of its divisional director of finance Hermanus Gideon Smit as the new acting CFO with effect from 1 March until a new CFO is permanently appointed.

He takes over from group CFO David Pfaff, whose resignation comes into effect from 28 February.

Hermanus has a B.Acc honours degree and is a qualified CA (SA). He has been a full time employee of Truworths since April 2008 and has served as a member of the company’s finance team for 13 years, more than seven of which have been under the supervision of David. He has also held the positions of financial accountant, tax and finance credit manager, lead business analyst of Oracle R12 project, financial manager, divisional finance manager and finance executive within the group.
