Jayendra Naidoo has resigned from the Steinhoff supervisory board to focus on STAR

Jayendra Naidoo this week resigned as a member of Steinhoff International Holdings’ supervisory board. He will instead focus his efforts on the Steinhoff Africa Retail (STAR) board, of which he is chairman.

Steinhoff said in a statement that the supervisory board continues to keep the governance of the group under review, and that several candidates are in the process of being approached to strengthen the independence of the aforementioned board.

According to the company, Naidoo’s post will likely be filled by a new independent director, who will be appointed in due course.
