Interim CEO Johan Claassen has been appointed permanent CEO of cement maker PPC.

South African cement maker PPC has announced that its interim CEO, Johan Claassen, has been appointed permanent CEO and executive director of the group, effective immediately.

Claassen was MD of the South African firm until July 2017, when he was appointed interim CEO after the unexpected resignation of then CEO Darryll Castle (pictured).

Castle was the second PPC CEO to leave with immediate effect: in August 2014, Ketso Gordhan resigned “due to differences of opinion with the board regarding board procedures for the approval of certain decisions".
