Kagiso Lerutla announced as new City of Ekurhuleni group CFO

The Ekurhuleni Council approved the appointment of Kagiso Lerutla as the City of Ekurhuleni’s new group CFO on Thursday. 

Kagiso joined the City of Ekurhuleni in 2014 as divisional head of governance and compliance within the finance department. Prior to joining the City of Ekurhuleni, he worked in the office of the Auditor General

He is a qualified chartered accountant and Saica member, with a B.Compt degree from the University of Limpopo, and a B.Com accounting honours degree from the University of Johannesburg. 

According to a statement released by the City of Ekurhuleni, Kagiso has an essential function in assisting the accounting officer to carry out her financial management responsibilities in areas ranging from budget preparation to financial reporting, and the development and maintenance of internal control policies and procedures. “He plays an integral role in implementing the financial reforms at the direction of the accounting officer with the assistance of appropriately skilled finance staff,” the report read. 

City of Ekurhuleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina said: 

“As the country prepares to commemorate the 1976 Soweto Uprising on 16 June, the appointment of Kagiso as group CFO is a reflection of the City of Ekurhuleni’s commitment to youth development and entrusting young people with great responsibilities. We trust that Kagiso will serve the city diligently.”
