Kenny Fihla (pictured) has been appointed Chief Executive of Standard Bank’s Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) division, effective immediately. Kenny takes over from David Munro, who will be fulfilling the role of CEO at Liberty, also part of the Standard Bank Group.
Kenny said of his appointment:
"I have every confidence in the teams we have in place and the strategies that we are driving, along with the long-term growth prospects of Africa, which remains the heart of our strategic focus."
Kenny has been Deputy Chief Executive of CIB and Head of CIB South Africa since November 2016. He was appointed to the CIB executive committee in 2007, and in 2008 was appointed CIB head of Transactional Products and Services for South Africa. He joined Standard Bank South Africa in 2006 as head of investor services.
It has not yet been announced who will replace Kenny as Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Client Coverage CIB.
