Land Bank appoints Ayanda Kanana as CEO

Kanana's appointment follows that of Khensani Mukhari as the bank's CFO.

The Land Bank has announced the appointment of Ayanda Kanana as its new CEO with effect from 1 March.

Kanana will be taking over from executive for strategy and communications Sydney Soundy, who has been acting as CEO following the resignation of previous acting CEO Kone Gugushe.

This follows the recent appointment of Khensani Mukhari as the bank’s CFO, which came into effect on 3 February.

Kanana joins Land Bank from the Johannesburg Fresh Produce Market, where he is currently serving out the remainder of his tenure as CEO. He is also currently serving as the chairperson of the audit and risk committee for the East London Industrial Development Zone. He is a qualified CA(SA) and has served on various board structures. 

In a statement, the Land Bank extended a warm welcome to the new CEO and expressed its gratitude to the executive committee for holding the fort and ensuring business continuity.
