Lerato Pule will take Cell C on its new growth journey following its successful recapitalisation.

Today, 1 September, Lerato Pule steps into the role of CFO at Cell C. She takes over from Zaf Mahomed, who has taken a sabbatical following the successful recapitalisation and turnaround of the business.

Lerato joined the leadership team earlier this year to ensure a smooth handover. According to the statement, she will play an important role as Cell C charts a new course to become a digital lifestyle company.

Prior to joining Cell C, Lerato was the CFO of Telkom’s SME segment. She served as the company’s executive of finance enablement for two years before that, and as an executive finance business partner for its corporate segment in 2016.

Lerato has over 16 years’ experience in financial and business management at an operational and strategic level in various organisations, including as chief of strategy, planning and change, and as chief of staff at BCX, respectively. She has also served as the head of the national sales contact centre and deputy head of the inland region for African Bank. Before this, after two years as a performance and demand manager at BP, she was the CFO for Alexander Forbes.
