He will be replaced by an interim CEO until a suitable full-time replacement can be found.
JSE-listed Tongaat Hulett announced this week that its CEO, Peter Staude, will be retiring at the start of October. The company said in a statement that an interim CEO will be appointed while the board identifies a suitable successor.
The group's board said in a statement:
"He [Peter Staude] exemplified integrity and commitment, and served the interests of our stakeholders with distinction."
Staude ran the agriculture and agri-processing company for 16 years. He says he will remain available in an advisory capacity after his retirement.
