Mark Steyn to replace Peter Meijer as Bidvest Group CFO
South Africa's Bidvest Group has appointed Mark Steyn as its new Group CFO, effective 1 March. Steyn, who was CFO of Bidvest Freight until this promotion, will take over the role from Peter Meijer, who will be retiring after 28 years in the company’s employ.
Steyn first joined Bidvest in May 1997 and has held various financial positions within Bidvest Freight over the years, most recently as finance head.
Steyn’s appointment comes soon after the company posted a 12.5 percent rise in first-half earnings. According to Reuters, the company’s headline earnings per share in the six months to 31 December rose to 574 cents, up from 510.3 cents a year earlier.
