Martin brings more than three decades of banking and financial services experience, including previous senior leadership roles at Postbank and Deutsche Bank locally and abroad.
Fintech group Revolut has appointed Martin Dowie as chief financial officer, effective February 2026.
He joins the firm following his role as CFO at Postbank, where he served from February 2025 to January 2026. In that position, he was an executive director responsible for finance, tax, treasury and supply chain management.
Prior to Postbank, Martin held several senior leadership roles within Deutsche Bank. He served as CFO of Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A. from 2020 to 2023, acting as executive CFO of the subsidiary and branch manager of the Luxembourg branch, as well as a board member representing finance across various holding entities.
Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade with Deutsche Bank South Africa, where he progressed from head of regulatory reporting and product control to deputy CFO and later CFO.
Martin began his professional journey at PwC South Africa, where he rose to associate director during a 15-year tenure.
He holds a BCom in accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand and an honours in accounting sciences from Unisa. He completed a CA(SA) thereafter.
