Melani De Castro appointed as Crookes Brothers CFO

After an impressive eight-year climb through the ranks from project accountant, globally-experienced CA(SA) Melani De Castro has officially stepped into the chief financial officer role at JSE-listed group Crookes Brothers.

JSE-listed group Crookes Brothers has announced the appointment of Melani De Castro as its chief financial officer and director.

Melani steps into the top finance role after serving as the company’s group financial manager since May 2021.

Her journey with Crookes Brothers began in October 2016 when she joined as a project accountant, before moving up the ranks to financial manager.

Prior to joining the group, she gained global exposure through secondments with Deloitte in Boston, Luxembourg and London, where she worked as an assistant manager in the corporate business audit division.

She also completed a brief contracting stint as a financial accountant for Circle Health in the United Kingdom.

A qualified CA(SA), Melani holds a BCom honours in accounting and completed her articles at Deloitte in Durban.
