Brian Molefe has been ordered to pay back money he received from Eskom's pension fund

The “early retirement agreement” reached between Brian Molefe, the former CE of Eskom, now employed by the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), and the company’s board were unlawful and should be set aside, ruled a full bench of the High Court in Pretoria earlier today.

In light of this, Molefe must repay a portion of the R30.1 million he received as an early retirement pension benefit after his resignation was withdrawn.

Molefe has also been ordered to pay the legal costs of the applicants, namely Solidarity and the DA.
