MTN appoints Tsholofelo Molefe as new group CFO

Tsholofelo Molefe joins MTN from Telkom, where she served as group CFO until 4 December.

MTN has announced the appointment of former Telkom group CFO Tsholofelo Molefe as its new group CFO to support the group’s new strategy. Tsholofelo will take up the new role as soon as practically possible in 2021.

Tsholofelo resigned from her role at Telkom on 4 December with immediate effect. She has served as the group CFO since 2018, as well as its chief risk officer and deputy CFO prior to that. She has played a key role in the strategic transformation programmes at Telkom, which resulted in her winning the Finance Transformation Award and High-Performance Team Award at the 2020 CFO Awards.

Prior to working at Telkom, Tsholofelo was the FD at Eskom, as well as the CFO for First National Bank’s Personal Banking division. She is also a non-executive director on the board of Curro Holdings.

Tsholofelo will be taking over from Sugentharan Perumal, who has been acting in the position of group CFO since 1 September 2020 after Ralph Mupita was appointed as MTN’s group CEO.
