Nedbank CIB appoints Anél Bosman as new managing executive

Anél has served within the group for more than 18 years, including as CFO of Nedbank Capital.

Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) has announced the appointment of Anél Bosman as its new group managing executive and member of the group exco with effect from 1 April. 

She will be taking over from Brian Kennedy, who has reached the mandatory retirement age of 60. His retirement comes into effect on 31 March after more than 24 years at Nedbank. 

Anél started her Nedbank career as a trader, heading up the multi-disciplinary desk. In 2005, she was appointed as the head of risk for Nedbank Captial. She has also served as the CFO and head of strategy for Nedbank Capital before being appointed as the COO for the Nedbank cluster in 2011. In 2015, Anél was appointed as managing executive for Nedbank CIB Markets

In a statement, the company said that her experience and knowledge of Nedbank will facilitate a seamless transition. 

Anél obtained her B.Com honours degree in econometrics from the University of Johannesburg in 1988 and an M.Phil degree in economics from the University of Cambridge in 1990. She has had an 18-year career at Nedbank CIB and its predecessors.

Nedbank has also appointed managing executive of Nedbank Africa Regions Terence Sibiya to the group exco with effect from 1 April.
