Newsletter: CFO BCX - Guiding Telkom-acquisition BCX through the storm | Tax watchdog Ngoepe demands more independence | Sasol CEO: company is in good shape

CFO South Africa Newsletter | Thursday 17 September Dear CFO South Africa Member, Read Exclusive CFO South Africa Articles Lawrence Weitzman - Guiding Telkom-acquisition BCX through the storm The acquisition by Telkom, the death of its beloved CEO and the need for a major restructuring have kept Lawrence Weitzman, CFO at Business Connexion (BCX), busier than ever. Managing people in the right way and being a trusted leader is the real reason behind the success, says Weitzman, who comes across as a soft-spoken accountant but has established himself a real leader. “I try and give people space to do their own things and to make mistakes.” Tax watchdog Bernard Ngoepe demands more independence The Office of the Tax Ombud should become completely independent from SARS, according to Tax Ombud Bernard Ngoepe. The retired judge announced his demands in a keynote speech during the Tax Indaba at the Sandton Convention Centre on 7 September 2015.
