Nichola Dewar takes up the role of FD of A2Pay

Nichola Dewar, ex South African Post Office CFO, joined A2Pay as of 1 September.

Nichola Dewar has taken up the role of financial director of fintech company A2Pay from 1 September. 

She was previously the CFO of the South African Post Office (SAPO) for three years, and of Postbank for five years. She resigned on 1 July. 

Of her new role, she says:

“This builds on my SAPO experience, as A2Pay works with Spaza shops in terms of technology and process enablement. This has a significant job-creation element and funding to subsidise the equipment provided to qualifying Spaza shop owners is provided by National Treasury’s Jobs Fund.” 

Nichola has vast financial experience in many different industries, having served as finance director, head of finance, senior manager of strategic finance, an associate and a manager of a financial institutions team at companies like Compass Group, Microsoft, Barclays, Stanbic, and McKinsey & Company respectively. 

She is a qualified chartered accountant with an M.Comm Accounting degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting, B.Com Honours degree in Accounting and B.Sc Honours degree in Mathematics, and she has attended an Accounting Conversion Course, all from the University of Cape Town

SAPO is actively recruiting for Nichola’s replacement.
