Old Mutual appoints Olufunke Ighodaro as independent non-executive director

Former Tiger Brands CFO Funke Ighodaro will serve on Old Mutual’s audit, actuarial and risk committees.

Old Mutual has announced the appointment of former Tiger Brands CFO Olufunke (Funke) Ighodaro as an independent non-executive director. She will serve on the board’s audit, actuarial and risk committees.

According to a statement by Old Mutual, Funke is a commercially astute and experienced business leader who has served on the boards of several private and publicly listed companies, bringing diverse and extensive leadership experience and expertise in a large number of business disciplines, but specifically in finance and business strategy, and governance and risk management.

Funke holds a B.Sc honours degree from Salford University, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and accredited as a CA with SAICA.

She has served as the CFO of Tiger Brands and Primedia, as well as an executive director of Barloworld and 9mobile. She has founded and led the private equity business of Kagiso Trust Investment Group and was formerly a non-executive director of Datatec and Transaction Capital. She is currently a non-executive director of Massmart Holdings, as well as an independent member of the investment committee of Cell C.
