He has been preparing for the role for almost four years at the company's London offices.
AstraZeneca has appointed 2018 CFO Awards nominee Osman Mia as the CFO of its MEA area.
The appointment comes after Osman served in the company’s London office as CFO-in-waiting for his new role.
About his move to London, Osman said in an earlier interview with CFO South Africa:
“I received a call from the global office in London, telling me that the Middle East and Africa CFO role was becoming available. Yet, I had only been in the company and industry for two years, and they felt I needed to expand my knowledge and network base, which led me to join the global office and start networking from there.”
He relocated with his family in 2015, and has been in London ever since.
