Professional services company PwC will be sponsoring the Compliance & Governance Award at the 2020 CFO Awards.

“PwC’s purpose is to build trust in society and solve important problems,” says PwC partner and director Grant Searle. “We’re passionate about compliance and good governance; the cornerstones of maintaining and building trust.”

PwC is the largest provider of professional services in Africa, with in-depth knowledge and understanding of African operating environments, and provides industry-focused assurance, advisory and tax services to public, private and government clients.

The company has previously shown its support for the CFO Awards, which recognises CFOs of listed companies, large corporations, state-owned entities and government institutions, and award them for outstanding performance and leadership.

“PwC has a long-standing relationship with CFO South Africa and the South African CFO community,” Grant says. “We believe the CFO plays a pivotal role, not only in sound financial stewardship, but in providing insight into performance – working closely with their C-suite counterparts, boards and investor stakeholders to build financially sustainable and ethical businesses.”

He explains that the role of the CFO has become increasingly complicated and diverse, requiring strategic and future-focused thinking. “PwC recognises the value and importance of the role, and would like to acknowledge and support CFOs in all facets thereof.”
