Pick n Pay announces Tina Rookledge as incoming CFO in strategic finance leadership transition

Pick n Pay has appointed seasoned financial leader Tina Rookledge to its executive team as part of a structured succession plan. She will step into the CFO role after the August 2026 AGM, taking over from long-serving finance head Lerena Olivier.

Pick n Pay has announced the appointment of Tina Rookledge, who will join the Group on 1 February 2026 as part of a planned transition in its finance leadership. The board has positioned her appointment to allow for a comprehensive handover ahead of her assuming the CFO role after the August 2026 AGM, ensuring continuity and stability across the retailer’s finance function.

With over 20 years of professional services experience, Tina brings deep expertise in governance, financial management and the leadership of multidisciplinary teams. She has a strong familiarity with the Pick n Pay business from her previous role at EY, where she served as regional managing partner for the Western Cape, driving strategic initiatives that strengthened operations and delivered business growth.

In her new role, she will support the Group’s turnaround strategy, focusing on operational performance, sustainable growth and long-term value creation for stakeholders.
Her appointment forms part of a broader succession plan following the announcement that

Lerena Olivier, Pick n Pay’s group CFO since 2019, will step down from the role at the conclusion of the 2026 AGM. Lerena, who joined the company in 2011, has been instrumental in strengthening the Group’s financial management and governance, and played a steadying role through major challenges including Covid-19, the 2021 KZN unrest and the Group’s 2025 recapitalisation programme.

While she steps aside from the CFO role, Lerena will remain within Pick n Pay, supporting CEO Sean Summers and the executive team in a strategic capacity overseeing priority projects central to the retailer’s turnaround plan.
