Sasfin appoints Karien Jones as COO of group finance

Karien will be responsible for assisting the finance team with financial operations, like reporting.

Sasfin has appointed Karien Jones as the COO of its group finance division, where she will be responsible for supporting the executives in this division while managing multiple deliverables like regulatory reporting, financial reporting and other financial operations. 

Karien joins Sasfin from Absa, where she served as the head of credit portfolio management and reporting for three years. Before that, she served as the regional head of risk finance at the bank for four years. 

She started her career at RMB as a manager of operations for hard and soft commodities, forex, interest rates and collateral. Later, she was appointed as the financial controller of soft commodities and futures clearing operations.

After that, she served as the senior manager of management reporting at Landbank SA before joining Standard Bank, where she served in various roles, including head of capital reporting in its Corporate and Investment Bank SA division, head of business decisions support for central management information for corporate and investment, and head of business decision support for global investment banking.
