Senwes Group has announced the appointment of veteran chartered accountant Derek Engelbrecht as its chief financial officer, effective 6 January 2026.

Senwes Group has appointed Derek Engelbrecht as chief financial officer, effective 6 January 2026.

An accomplished chartered accountant with more than 20 years of experience, Derek brings deep financial expertise and a strong understanding of the Senwes business, having previously served as the lead external audit partner during Ernst & Young’s (EY) tenure as Senwes’s auditors until 2023.

Following two decades as a Partner at EY, Derek looks forward to applying his extensive experience to his new role at Senwes. Over the course of his career, he has led large, multidisciplinary teams across complex audits, financial advisory and risk management projects for both local and international listed companies, particularly in the highly regulated consumer industry.

Derek holds a BCom in accounting and an MCom in financial management from the University of Johannesburg.
