Sherylee Moonsamy joins Brand SA as CFO

Brand South Africa has appointed seasoned public-sector finance leader and 2025 CFO of the Year nominee Sherylee Moonsamy as its chief financial officer. With a career spanning senior roles across national institutions and municipal entities, she steps into the role with deep experience in governance, strategy and financial stewardship.

Sherylee Moonsamy, 2025 CFO of the Year nominee, has been appointed as the CFO of Brand SA.

She recently served as the CFO of the Competition Tribunal of South Africa for over three years and before that she was the non-executive director of SITA SOC for almost two years.

“After a meaningful chapter at the Competition Tribunal, the time has come for me to turn the page and begin a new journey. Working alongside passionate colleagues, contributing to an institution that plays such an important role, and growing both professionally and personally has been a privilege. I leave with deep gratitude for the relationships built, the lessons gathered, and the opportunities that stretched me in all the right ways,” she said in a Linkedin post.

Prior to that she was the CFO of the Johannesburg Development Agency for almost five years. Before that, she was the agency’s finance manager for over six years.

Sherylee holds an MBA in business administration and management from the Gordon Institute of Business Science and a BCom honours in accounting and auditing from Unisa.
