During a hugely successful round table discussion a selection of influential South African CFOs shared their experiences and discussed common challenges in the modern South African business world. In a frank conversation hosted by Accenture and organized by the fast-growing networking platform CFO SA, topics ranged from funding for growth, attracting and retaining talent to dealing with the daily avalanches of e-mails.
The round table proved to be a true meeting of great minds, in which there was equal room for serious in depth discussion and solution sharing, "We never used to do this as CFOs as we are bad in networking," one CFO remarked, "We are just too busy." The discussion clearly left the participants feeling rejuvenated and CFO SA sees tremendous opportunities to play a further role in bringing South African CFOs together.
The round table in the Maslow hotel was the second event of its kind and the first one in Johannesburg, the engine of the African economy. The discussion was followed by a lively Café, attended by around 100 finance professionals. Christian Campagna, the lead of Accenture's Finance and Enterprise Performance Practice in Europe, Africa and Latin America and Neal Boardman, Senior manager Management Consulting in South Africa gave exciting presentations on a recent Shared Services study.
