Wesbank appointed Thembeka Maseko as its CFO in November 2018.
Thembeka Maseko has been with Webank for nine years, working her way up through the financial divisions to her most recent appointment as chief financial officer.
She started as a financial manager in 2009, became the head of reporting in 2011 and the CFO of Wesbank’s Financial Advisory Division in 2013. She served as the CFO: Rest of Africa from 2014 to 2017 and Head of Strategy from 2017 to 2018.
She served two short stints at Nedbank, one as a financial accountant in 2008 and the other as financial executive in 2018.
Her career started off at KPMG, where she served as an audit clerk. She moved to EY in 2008 where she briefly served as a tax consultant.
Thembeka has an International Executive Development Programme from the Wits Business School, an HDIP Tax Law from the University of Johannesburg, a post graduate diploma in accounting and a B.Com degree in accounting and finance from the University of Cape Town.
