The Trencor FD will be taking up the role of CEO as well when Hennie van der Merwe retires.
Trencor has announced that FD Ric Sieni will be taking on the combined role of CEO and FD following the retirement of CEO Hennie van der Merwe.
Ric was appointed as FD and member of the executive committee on 1 March 2016. He serves on the social and ethics committee and the risk committee. He completed his articles at Deloitte before joining Trencor on 1 October 1982, where he served as group accountant and later as financial manager.
According to a statement by the company, the JSE has granted dispensation for these roles to be combined in one executive. The company also said that these changes are in furtherance of its objective to limit operating expenses as far as possible, pending its planned dissolution by March 2025.
Hennie will be available to Trencor on a consultancy basis.
