The agency is advertising for the positions of both CFO and CEO until 9 May.
The Universal Service and Access Agency of South Africa (USAASA) is advertising for the positions of CFO and CEO. According to the job post, the vacancies, which are contract-based, are for a period of 18 months.
“The main purpose of the CFO is to manage that the USAASA and USAF [Universal Service and Access Fund] finances are budgeted, utilised and reported on according to policy, the PFMA and statutory requirements,” the job post reads.
The closing date for applications is 9 May.
Frik Nieman is currently acting as the CFO and Chwayita Madikizela is acting as the CEO.
The embattled state-owned entity has been without a permanent CEO since the departure of Lumko Mtimde, who left when his contract expired in May 2019.
Following Lumko’s exit, the CEO position has been occupied by persons in an acting capacity, including Sipho Mngqibisa, Dr Mashilo Boloka and now Chwayita.
The agency states: “The main purpose of the CEO is to lead USAASA and USAF through developing the strategies and managing the implementation of the operational plans to deliver on the USAASA and USAF mandates.”
