Anthony Copty began his career in 1996 at international accounting firm Arthur Andersen, in the advisory services and audit division. In 2000, he became Group Financial Controller for one of the biggest department store chains in Lebanon. In 2003, Anthony joined British American Tobacco (BAT) in Beirut, Lebanon, as the Finance Manager for Levant and Yemen, where his responsibilities included financial accounting, management accounting, tax, treasury and marketing finance. He moved to the Democratic Republic of the Congo as Finance Director at the end of 2005, and in 2008 became Regional Operations Finance Manager for BAT’s Africa and Middle East region. He then moved to Egypt as CFO for BAT’s North African operations in 2010, where he spent almost four years before moving to West Africa as Finance Director for Nigeria and West Africa. From 2017 to 2020, Anthony was the Head of Finance for BAT’s Southern African Area. He is currently the FD for the Northern Asia region. Anthony holds a Master’s degree in money and banking, corporate and international finance, investment banking and security analysis. He has an undergraduate B.Sc degree in accounting and finance, and is a US-certified public accountant.
