Barbara Makhubedu has been the CFO and executive director of Liberty Two Degrees since March 2023. Before that, she was a non-executive director on the company’s board for three years.
Prior to joining Liberty Two Degrees, Barbara worked at Shell, first as head of tax compliance for five years, then deputy country controller for three years, business analyst for another two years after that and finally CFO of Shell Downstream South Africa for seven years.
Her career started at Deloitte in 1997 as a trainee accountant, and she later worked as a senior consultant for the firm for a year, before becoming a corporate tax consultant for Old Mutual.
Barbara has a post graduate diploma in tax, as well as a BCom accounting degree from the University of Cape Town.
