Damain Matroos has over 15 years’ experience in corporate finance, both in the UK and more recently in South Africa. He joined Efora Energy as CFO from Sasol in 2015. He was promoted to CEO in 2020. At Sasol he was the Vice President of Corporate Finance. He was responsible for mergers, acquisitions and specialised funding for the Sasol Group. He played a significant corporate finance role on a number of Sasol’s major capital projects, including its mining, Gas-to-Liquid refinery and upstream activities. Prior to working at Sasol he held management positions at Atkins, PwC, Moore Stephens and Greenwoods. He was appointed CFO of Gemcorp Refineries in May 2021. He holds a B.Com (Accounting) degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
