Emmah Makomva is the outgoing chief financial officer at Godrej Consumer Products South Africa.
Emmah has more than 20 years of executive experience across a number of leading multinationals in business strategy, financial management, risk management, internal controls and governance.
She began her career in 2001 at P&G, the US headquartered global top multinational. This was a strong finance foundation that allowed mastery of the consumer categories and extensive business partnering.
In 2005, she decided to complete her MBA and took on a lighter role at BP, the British oil and gas multinational where she was a management information reporting manager.
Around the completion of her MBA, she was called back to P&G, where she continued her career from manager to group finance director across different categories and finance roles. Just before going back into the beauty/haircare industry at Godrej, she got exposure in the food industry at Kelloggs, where she worked on cereals, Pringles and noodles as CFO for Southern Africa.
Despite her illustrious corporate experience, she remains passionate about coaching and developing talent.
She holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and an Executive Education Program in Business Strategy from Harvard Business School.
