Jacobus (Koos) Bekker has been Chief Financial Officer of South Ocean Holdings and an Executive Director since February 2007. He resigned his position in 2020. He was also Chief Executive Officer of Radiant from October 2009 until May 2010. He joined South Ocean Holdings in July 2001 as Administration and Financial Operational Manager. Koos entered the accounting profession in 1978 and was appointed audit partner in 1986. He served as an audit partner with a medium-sized firm and also one of the big four firms during his career as an auditor. He left the auditing profession in 1997 and opened a stockbroking firm in the Eastern Cape. He qualified as a stockbroker in 1999 and was a member of the South African Institute of Stock Brokers until 2001. Koos is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He holds an MBA from Columbia University and an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand.
