J’shanthan Mudely has been the head of finance for Philips’ Sub-Saharan Africa and Image Guided Therapy (ME, Turkey and Africa) since August 2023. He has been with the company since 2020, when he joined as a finance business partner in South Africa. Later that year he was promoted to market finance controller of Africa, and in 2021 he became the CFO of South Africa and finance business partner for Africa at Philips.
Prior to joining Philips, he was the commercial operations excellence manager for Africa at Abbott. He joined the company in 2016 as its CFO and the head of finance for their Diagnostics Africa division. Before this, he was the head of finance for Sub-Saharan Africa at Stryker after being a finance manager for the region for a year. He has also been a finance manager for Africa and interim CFO at Ster-Kinekor Theatres, and a finance analyst at Mondelēz International.
His career started at Deloitte, where he was an audit senior, audit supervisor and senior consultant for strategy and innovation, respectively.
J’shanthan is a qualified CA(SA), with a BCom (Honours) degree from the University of South Africa, a CMA qualification from the Institute of Management Accountants, and an advanced certificate in auditing from the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA).
